I really like these bars. Perhaps too much. I have them on monthly auto-ship, but my box doesn't last long enough to get tired of them. Then I have to wait another month for the next box.

The things I like about the bars:
1 - The texture is more like a brownie than pressed oatmeal and granola
2 - The fruit is more aromatic and tastes fresher than your typical dried fruit chunks stuck in food bars
3 - They are fresh and not dried out
4 - Loads of flax seeds
5 - They taste like something you could actually bake

Something I don't like:
1 - That one flax seed that gets stuck in my teeth :-)

Seriously, give them a try.

I have tried every diet, diet pills that is on the market. I had lost over 50 lbs this past year under a doctor's supervision, due to my husbands recent job change we had to move out of state. Whith in the last 3 months I gained 25 of the 50lbs lost back. I was getting very discouraged, and thought to myself I will never be able to lose the weight again by myslef.

I went into GNC about a month ago asking for help and the girl working there suggested this product. I was a little scared at first thinking this is not going to work just like every other product I tried. I have been taking these pills for a little over 3 weeks and they have been working for me I have lost 12lbs so far.

I did stop taking them this past weekend, I had went on vacation and of course I ate not like I usually do. So when I got back I had gained 5lbs, but have been back on the pills for 5 days and have lost the 5lbs plus 2 more. With every diet you must eat right and exercise. You will be amazed at the results of this pill if you eat more health and exercise makes a big difference.

The only thing I don't like is they do tend to keep me up till late hours and the first set of pills in the morning sometimes will give me nausea, but as soon as I eat it goes away.

This is a good meal replacement bar. There are several out there but for the most part EAS makes good products. This bar actually has nuts in it so it enhances the flavor. Calories are average 240 or so with low net carbs and 15-17 grams of protein. Overall I recommend it. You might also want to try the Cliff Builders Bars it you are not worried about carbs.

My husband and I are both trying to live a lower carb lifestyle, and we've tried a lot of different low carb meal replacements and snacks. These bars (along with the Chocolate Delight Extend Bars Extend Bar Chocolate Delight, 15-Count, 21.16-Ounce Box) are by far our favorites. They actually taste fairly chocolately and the texture isn't bad at all. The "crisp" part gives the bars a slightly crunchy texture, which we both prefer because it seems a little more substantive.

Our only complaint... they're sold out more than half the time!

- relatively easy setup. I think it took me about 30 mins to build. All tools required are included (flimsy nut wrenches, so you may want to use your own).

- good for lower back stretching and perfectly balanced so you can easily hang upside-down and get back up again.

- easily adjustable to differing heights of users via a spring-loaded knob

Cons:

- angle of inclination limiter is horribly cumbersome. It's controlled by a nylon loop-thru strap on the underside of the unit and is time-consuming to adjust.

- not effective for upper back stretching, which is where most of my pain is (between scapulae and middle of back).

- ankle securement mechanism is problematic and maybe painful or difficult for some users. This is my biggest problem with the unit. It is not a cuff/boot around the ankles and calves that distributes the pressure. Instead, you are locked in via a padded bar and your ankles take the full brunt of the hanging force. This gets uncomfortable for me after more than 5 minutes. It helps to wear hi-top sneakers or shoes that offer ankle padding, but a boot type strap design would've been better.

- no thigh support cross bar, so reclining at less than 90 degrees for more than 10 minutes may be fatiguing.

Given these caveats, this is still an OK item. I sometimes recline on it and try to take a short nap. It would be greatly helped by a thigh support bar so your legs have something to rest on.

At 18 months ago, it is a justifiable purchase, due to my constant back pain and discomfort. Now, at double the price, you may wish to do some more comparison shopping and consider alternative brands before committing.

My wife works out regularly with weights and this set has the 5 to 15lb dumbbells she uses as well as the 20 and 25 I use occasionally and they all fit on a tidy compact rack. The rack fabrication and assembly could be better; we found it impossible to put it together so it would sit flat on the floor and some of the mounting plates were bent, although these straightenend out once bolted. We have the rack on a rug, so the unevenness doesn't matter and it looks straight. The dumbbells themselves are cheaply made, but that doesn't affect much. The grips are textured on the 15, 20 and 25lb weights only. Overall we are very happy with this purchase.

We can each adjust the seat and the handlebars to the PERFECT position and the gel seat is super comfy. It's amazing how quiet it is and I like how the pedals are always balanced upright. The fancy computer that is sort of technical but we easily figured everything out once we read the owner's manual. He likes to push it to the high settings for like 20 minutes while I go for long distance rides. The design is cool and at first look you can see it is club quality. Definitly recommend for anyone!

The manual is so cryptic and poorly written that I'm not sure how to use this execise bike or even if it is working properly. I have a mechanics and science background in case you are wondering. This is a German made product and the multilingual manual is supposedly written for Great Britain users but is among the most poorly conceived operating manuals I have ever come across. I hope the German version is better! I guess if you are fluent in German you may have an easier time than I. I will try to contact the company to see if I can get some help. If not, I might have to return this item.

Terrible Implementation - goliath100 -
I purchased an ActiTrainer device to get better control on my calories out. It sounds like it should do a very credible job.... Has an accelerometer and a heart rate monitor. The web site offers it as 'the only trainer you will ever need' I believe the product has great potential. Unfortunately the current version has significant flaws including:

The heart rate monitor collects heart rate but doesn't appear to use it in the calorie calculations.

The accelerometer doesn't seem to capture the motion of weight lifting or cycling... About the same as sitting. (their web site admits this flaw if you read between the lines... says they still capture heart rate.. doesnt say they dont use heart rate data in calorie computations.

So, if you are walking or running you can probably get a credible estimate of calories. But don't count on it for anything else.

I also wore it snowshoeing in addition to my Polar s625x heart rate monitor hoping to get a second opinion on calorie burn and mileage. (The Polar does mileage and speed when used with its footpod but I couldn't wear its foot pod while snowshoeing. The Actitrainer turned itself off (even though it was charged) so i missed the mileage altogether.

I am not exactly sure why I wouldn't just use a pedometer rather than ActiTrainer.

PS Final insult... 15% restocking fee to return this thing to the manufacturer

I was very excited to buy this device, but when I got it, I wasn't very impressed with it.

Where to start. Taking it out of the packaging was the easiest part of the whole thing. You have to plug it into a USB port to charge, so if you don't have a lot of space on your CPU, I hope you have a port on your monitor or a USB extension cord. The equipment they give you to strap it to yourself consists of an elastic belt to put around your waist or torso and a strap you can use to put around your arm and I assume this is also for your wrist when you're sleeping at night. The maximum you can adjust the belt is around 41-42", otherwise its going to use its stretch function. You think yeah, ok, so what, but it's not comfortable. The case you put the Actitrainer in is plastic and pokey on your skin, especially when you sit. If you want to wear this for a short time, go for it, but I wanted to calculate my calorie expenditure. Let me tell you, this will tick off the calories regardless of if it's on your body or not. You're better off with a pedometer and a good formula to calculate what your body burns.

Nighttime comes and you must take it off your waist and put it on your wrist. It's rectangular, about 3-1/2" long not in the case. The arm band is too long, wraps around your wrist twice with velcro, not really leaving anywhere to put the device, which hangs on for dear life with a crappy little clip, which isn't really clip-like if you ask me. It's quite awkward sleeping with it on being as it's wider than your wrist and just hanging out there waiting to fall off. The reason to wear it at night is to count the number of times you wake up at night, to calculate your sleeping efficiency, which you can't do unless you have an account on their website. I had a sleep efficiency of 86%, but if I changed the time one half hour it jumped to 91%. It can also do your heart rate, but you have to take the waist belt and strap it as close to your sternum as possible, but if you're a woman, well it's not that easy, we have things in the way, but it seemed to work anyhow, and again, uncomfortable.

Now comes the software. You have to install a client and drivers. That in itself is not that hard. I had problems getting the battery to charge, would not charge to 100% to save my life. It held steady at 67% then the next day I was able to hit 83%, but as far as I can see, you have to be logged into the client to see that. There is a battery icon on the Actitrainer, but to see what the actual percentage is you have to be logged in. You may have trouble logging into the client, I received an error about a port 1433 being blocked numerous times before it worked on my home PC. On my PC from work, I received this message and never did get logged in. The customer service was helpful and fairly quit to reply, but by the time they tried troubleshooting, I was fed up with the whole thing and cancelled my subscription to their site and ready to send it back, which they didn't argue with at all. Must warn you though to read the fine print, there's a 15% restock fee involved and you ship back on your own dime.

There is a rather large PDF document that comes on the installation disk with instructions, while they tell you how to use the device, and it's not hard to, it leaves you to your imagination as to how to put the device on. Seems odd to put it next to your body under clothing because it is, like I said, NOT comfortable at all, same with the wrist thing, seems odd to have not much of a way to use it at night other than sticking out the way it does. It does not sit lengthwise on your arm, its the other way. I'm trying to explain this the best way I can, because I wish I would have known these things before I bought the item myself. I didn't see anyone saying anything about this device other than it was cool. Sure, it's cool for about one day until you wear it for more than a couple hours.

Bottom line. Too spendy, too uncomfortable, slightly on the flimsy side. Buy at your own risk.

I purchased the ball chair a few months ago and am excited to use it. The only signficant downfall is that ALL FOUR wheels are LOCKING wheels. So in your daily routine of getting up sitting down, inevitably your foot hits one of the tabs and 'locks' the wheels. Leaving you potentially trapped OR having to fight against the locked wheel so that you can bend over again and again to unlock them.

The chair is great for promoting good posture and the wheels are a definite asset. It does take time to build up the muscles to use the chair for extended periods of time. I like the chair a lot, but find that I frequently hit the wheel locks by accident and have to figure out which one is locked. To me this is a design flaw. The chair moves well when all the wheels are unlocked (as it should). I highly recommend this chair over using a ball without wheels.

I convinced the women in our neighborhood book club to each buy this game to get us to exercise. I had already played it with my husband and loved it. Our book club tried group diets before but to no avail. Seems like we all start out gung ho but each week, more and more drop out. But this game works by having you play against just one other person. So we paired of 2 by 2. It not only brought out our competitive spirit but it became a matter of pride - we didn't want to lose to our partner. We finished our eight weeks and everyone had so much fun with it. Some exercised more than others but we all felt that we were winners because we all exercised at least three times a week for the eight weeks - a far cry from what we used to do.

As for the quality of the game - it is really well thought out. The rules are simple to understand. The game board hangs upright. Most of us put it on our refrigerator (it comes with magnets.) It was fun when we'd go into each other's homes and see how many stars were on their board. The game is reusable. In fact, a lot of us are already planning to play it again for another 8 weeks. You track your exercises by peel and stick stars and they worked well. No one had any problems with any of the game pieces. Even when my kids slammed the refrigerator door, my game stayed in place. Great concept!

Lamar Fitness Air Force Dual Action Bike Review

I've had the bike for about a month and use it for 60-90 minutes a day. I couldn't be more pleased with it. The previous reviewer is spot-on about getting a good workout without getting aching joints. I was completely surprised at how easily I can get a good heart-pumping workout without beating up my knees or back like jogging would do.

I have a Polar F6 heart rate monitor and rely on it for measurement of heart rate zone and calories burned. The computer that comes with the bike is good for telling you how long you've been exercising but the calories burned is not the same as my Polar monitor says.

The bike arrives in a 4x5 foot box about 8 inches deep. Everything you need to put it together is in the box except for a crescent wrench. The bolts and nuts are packaged in separate compartments for each stage of construction so there is no guesswork as to which nut or bolt is for which part of the assembly. It took me about 90 minutes to complete the assembly.

I use the bike on carpet and roll it around with the wheels. It is completely stable and I've never felt like I was swaying or concerned about tipping over.

The fan moves enough air to keep me cool but not so much to part my hair which will be nice in the summer. There's no clicking sound, just a low pitched rumble of the air moving so perhaps my 2007 model is quieter than the previous reviewer's model. With open ear headphones I don't really notice the sound.

I can watch TV or movies and go through 60 minutes / 800 calories and not feel any joint or back pain but I can definitely tell that i'm getting a good workout.

The placement of the arms and their range of motion is bliss - i've tried some different machines at the fancy gym clubs around Boston and find the action of my bike to be more comfortable. But don't let the notion of comfort mean less of a workout - the seat can be positioned by height and front-to-back and the back rest is useful for sitting further back on the seat and using your legs more. I have problems with my back but the adjustments let me get it just right for the most comfortable sitting position without leaning over or sitting in a strange way - my back never hurts even if I push it to 120 minutes in one sitting.

The seat is large, wide and comfortable.

The foot rests are nice because I can use my arms to keep going and give my legs a rest.

The fan cage is made of strong steel with narrow openings which keep little children's fingers out.

The construction quality is excellent - the welding joints are impressive, nothing is "tacked" down. Some friends of mine are welders for pharmaceutical tank companies and gave the welding quality two thumbs up. It's built like a tank and i'm sure i'll have this bike for a very long time. Lamar Fitness will keep you updated on maintenance tips (lube the chain, etc.) if you fill out the warranty card.

Most importantly - if you want good exercise without feeling like you've been beaten up from running 10 miles, get one of these. You can easily get your heart thumping without putting stress on your joints. The only places I felt sore were my out-of-shape muscles. I can climb stairs without feeling like i'm going to croak just after 3 weeks of using the bike. You don't need to jog or run to get in great shape - keep your knees in good shape when you're 90 and ride a bike.
